STUDY SKILLS
Introduction
Setting the Purpose
The purpose of this curriculum is to teach our students how to be organized and how to study- two skills of which they are in desperate need. It is vital that we help them recognize the importance of developing these qualities now and give them the tools necessary to do so. These are skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journeys and future careers. Success The success of this course depends, in a large part, on you. Your attitude and approach to the subject matter will have a profound effect upon the students' attitudes and receptiveness to the material being presented. If it is clear that you value and are enthusiastic about what you are presenting, chances are your students will be as well. It is also important that you actually USE and revisit what is being taught in class so that the practical application of the skills being taught becomes clear to the students. These are not just activities and words that they need to be familiar with in order to pass the class, but we are aiding them in developing skills that will help them to be successful in life.
